Recycled PET or rPET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a plastic obtained from used PET bottles and packaging. It retains the transparency, strength and lightness of virgin PET, while reducing its environmental footprint. Properties & Characteristics Strength and rigidity Recycled PET retains good mechanical strength and rigidity, enabling it to effectively protect the products it packages, while maintaining a stable structure under a variety of conditions. Light weight Like virgin PET, recycled PET is a lightweight material, making it easy to handle and reducing transport costs, while remaining strong and durable. Transparent applications Recycled PET can be transformed into transparent products, such as bottles or packaging films, allowing the contents to be seen while offering effective protection. Shock resistance Recycled PET is able to withstand impacts without breaking, making it suitable for packaging requiring extra protection. Chemical resistance PET is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, making it ideal for cleaning products, cosmetics and beverage containers, with no risk of degradation. Electrical insulation Its electrical insulation properties make it useful in certain electronic applications. Applications Consumer goods Bottles, preforms, trays, straps, textile fibers, food packaging. Textile Recycled polyester : jackets, T-shirts, sportswear. Accessories: bags, shoes, etc. Electronics Insulation components, light and resistant molded parts. Automobile Carpets, seat trim, under-hood components.
