45 1853 01 Silastic Hc 2033 40 Silicone Rubber

SILASTIC™ HC-2033-40 Silicone Rubber is a 40 Shore A low compression set and heat resistance silicone rubber. It is suitable for molding parts like O-ring and silicone rubber parts, especially for auto harness connector seal. Its low compression set ensures long-term sealing and waterproof performance for wire harnesses, while its excellent heat resistance provides reliable long-term performance for high-temperature automotive components. SILASTIC™ HC-2033-40 Silicone Rubber can be mixed with SILASTIC™ HC-2032-20 and HC-2033-80 Silicone Rubber to get middle hardness rubber. It can be used for some flame- retardant plastic connector seal. How to Use SILASTIC™ HC-2033-40 Silicone Rubber should be blended with the curing agent using a 2-roll open mill mixing process. For peroxide system, it is recommended to add 1phr SILASTIC™ RC-4 50FD curing agent per 100phr silicone rubber. For Pt catalysts system, it is recommended to add 0.14phr SILASTIC™ RD-9, 0.8phr RD-7 and 0.8phr RD-27 curing agents per 100phr silicone rubber. Ensure sufficient mixing time to achieve uniform material dispersion. The mixing temperature should be controlled, with the 2-roll mill temperature generally advised not to exceed 45°C to avoid scorching. Standard press molding temperature is 170°C, and its cure time depends on the thickness of final products. Post cure condition would be 4 hours at 200°C after molding in most cases, to ensure complete curing, removal of decomposition by-products from peroxides, and to achieve stable performance.
